As our highest level of connectivity, Sabre® Direct Connect AvailabilitySM offers airlines the ability to distribute their product through interactive, real-time, last-seat inventory displays in the Sabre® GDS.

Features

Available via all Sabre system platforms and channels, the Direct Connect Availability participation level uses interactive EDIFACT messages between the Sabre system and participating airlines, and provides access to a wide range of revenue-enhancing tools – many of which can be used at no additional charge. Among the free accessible features are Journey Data, Sabre® Married Segments, Sabre® Interactive Pre-Reserved Seats and Sabre® Interactive Seat Maps. The Direct Connect Availability connectivity level also provides automatic access to:

  • Interactive, real-time, last seat inventory displays
  • Sabre® Direct Connect SellSM connectivity
  • Sabre® AnswerBackSM connectivity
  • Sabre® Direct Access connectivity

Additionally, to help increase yields and for greater inventory management, participating carriers are able to tailor their inventory displays based on the following information – including point-of-sale information – sent with the availability request:

  • ARC/IATA number
  • channel type
  • computer reservations system identification
  • travel agency identification (pseudo city code)
  • agent sine
  • agency location
  • airline code
  • default currency code
  • origination and destination
  • flight number
  • date of travel
  • country code

Where Available

Direct Connect Availability is available to carriers worldwide.

technical requirements

To participate in the Direct Connect Availability level, carriers must:

  • Support International Air Transport Association EDIFACT messaging
  • Sign the Total Access Optional Services Addendum
  • Participate fully in the Direct Connect Sell, Direct Access and AnswerBack connectivity levels
