Sabre® APIs, formerly known as Sabre® Web Services, provide easier, faster and more flexible access to the Sabre® system functionality and products. Through the Internet, you can integrate our products and services — all the functionality needed to sell travel — with your own applications and databases. APIs are ideal for developers who want to build or update a customized booking application for their website or use Sabre content within another application.

Complete Set of Core Services: With over 80 web services available, customers have access to a wide-ranging set of travel services.  As technology advances, you require easier and lower cost ways to build your own custom booking application for the Web. You also need easy access and the flexibility to integrate travel content with your own systems and databases. And to gain a competitive edge, you need to be able to get your product to market fast. With APIs, you can do all of this. Plus, it makes it easy to build (or update) a comprehensive travel booking Web site that meets your unique business needs.

APIs are supported by technologies developed by the OpenTravel Alliance using APIs generic technology standards backed by Sun, IBM and Microsoft. These standards enable different systems to "talk" to each other using one interface.

Orchestrated Services: Supplementing the core web services are orchestrated services.  Designed to execute commonly performed business functions in a single service call orchestrated services streamline application development and reduce a customer's IT processing overhead.  Quicker application development can be realized when using orchestrated services as one service call performs multiple services that a developer would typically have to implement individually.

Event Notification Services (ENS): Event Notification Services are an optional set of services offered as part of the APIs product offering. Event Notification Services allows customers to subscribe to certain events about specific travel information published through our publish/subscribe infrastructure over the internet.  Sabre then pushes the information change as it occurs to the customer.  Event Notification Services is based on an industry standard, Web Services Eventing, or WS-Eventing.

The model for ENS is:  "Don't worry about calling us; we'll call you" as changes are detected to travel information for which you have a subscription.  ENS will automatically send the subscribing customer a notification about the change to the subscription topic.  ENS substantially reduces the need for mid-office robotic polling.

Dedicated Developer Resource Center (DRC): Using APIs to develop applications includes access to a dedicated Web site that provides information for using APIs, including a simple way to obtain the latest services through a repository that includes a complete directory of services and documentation to use them.

APIs customers now have access to around-the-clock support through our call center to report operational and production-critical issues. In addition, our support desk is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST.
